Unlike a typical magazine you buy in a newsagent, GuitarMart is not dependent for its existence on advertising revenue from manufacturers and distributors. One clear advantage of this (in the humble opinion of this guitar playing reviewer) is that GuitarMart is free to express a completely impartial opinion when reviewing gear.
Furthermore, we are not under any pressure to rehash the promotional blurb provided by distributors and disguise it as an independent review (which I suspect some of the popular magazines are guilty of from time to time!).
Consequently, if in the opinion of a GuitarMart reviewer an instrument is described as the 'mutts nuts' you know we are expressing our opinion freely. Likewise, while we are on a canine theme, if in the opinion of a GuitarMart reviewer an instrument is described as 'dogsh*t' the GuitarMart reviewer is equally free to say so...

Pickups with Punch
What power and sound you get from a pickup depends on a number of factors. The main determining factors are the size, shape and strength of the magnetic field and number and guage of the windings. A Fender Stratocaster is a Fender Stratocaster
